With its original goals of creating a thriving independent filmmaking community in Arizona, the creation of IFP/PHX adds national benefits and exposure to its members. Education, discounts, networking and exhibition opportunities are staples on the calendar of events.
The 2008 Phoenix Film Festival will run April 3 - 10, 2008 in the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan Area. The Phoenix Film Festival is the largest attended festival in Arizona with over 15,000 attendees in 2005 and featured tributes to such guests as Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, and Tom Ortenberg from Lion's Gate Films. Celebrity Guests included Tom Arnold and Danny Trejo, as well as filmmakers Don Roos, Ken Kwapis and featured Arizona Premieres of "Happy Endings", "Mad Hot Ballroom" and "Loverboy".
