The seasons move on, and with them come a variety of new projects and acquaintances. Assorted opportunities put me in the company of some extremely talented individuals, both in production and creative, as well as actors and voice talents.
Business continues to flourish, and included a variety of challenges. It was interesting to see how the wealthy live as I did a lifestyle shoot for the folks at the Optima Condos in Scottsdale. For the third year in a row, my voice was used by Insight Productions to voice the ACEC Awards for engineering excellence in the State of Arizona. It’s always a pleasure working with Mitch Ives at Insight. Visit his website at www.insightproductions.com to see Hi Def at its finest.
Thanks to the folks at Barclay Communications for selecting me to represent three of their clients; the new Atomic29 Restaurant in Mesa, First National Bank, and the Valley wide leader in pizzas, Streets of New York for some radio spots. Of course the talented pros at BigU did a fantastic job with production.
Waveyard, the $300 million dollar aquatic experience proposed for Mesa was also a client as they sought to get a positive vote for their project thru a radio campaign. It must have worked as they received a resounding “Yes” on 64% of the votes cast. Congrats, Waveyard!
Several new television spots were voiced for Mission Motor Sports in Laguna Beach,CA. As well as their on-hold messaging system.
Showcase Associates of Philadelphia called looking for the “Voice” to kickoff their general session at the J.W. Marriott at Desert Ridge. It’s doubtful that Tom Brokaw found me a tough act to follow as he was the keynote. But what a thrill. Yes, for me, not Tom.
Work also included some on camera opportunities including a commercial for the wonderful folks at Automotive Dealership Institute in Scottsdale. This unique, boutique school offers educational opportunities for those seeking management positions in auto dealerships, finance, and banking. More info at www.autodealerinstitute.com.
An ASU film student selected me to portray a distraught widower in his college project film, Lost Love. This was a real blast as it gave me an opportunity to test my ability to pull off drama. Another short film was “Michael’s Hearing Problem” from the combined minds of Bruce Dellis (Netherbeast) and the talented Montierth Brothers of Brothers Ink Productions. Somehow, they arranged for 21 skilled actors to punch out dialogue in a three minute film. It must have worked as it garnered awards at the IFP Buddies Film Contest this past Fall. Congrats to everyone who pulled this fun project together.
A quick day trip to Las Vegas for an on camera infomercial for Rappaport Diamonds. Also, a short trailer for the film “Thorns of a Rose” was filmed. In it, I portray Dr. Norman Dixon, arch nemesis to the lead character Robert Rose. Production is set to begin soon. Visit www.a22seventeenproduction.com for updates.
The talented director Andy Rodriquez selected yours truly to go completely out of character and portray Father Kovach, a Catholic priest in his film, Paula Peril. In February, an infomercial for H2O Concepts whole home water filtration system, an industrial for Timm Medical, host of a medical training film on malpractice lawsuit preparation, four radio/TV spots for Pacific Pools, several e-learning projects with MediaManagers of Tucson for Carl’s Junior.
